The Sharp Project is Manchester’s flagship hub for digital content production and innovation, transforming 200,000 square feet of former industrial space into a flexible creative campus for more than 60 digital startups, production companies and media businesses. Developed by Keith Jobling and Ken Campbell for Manchester City Council and designed by architect Alistair Weir of PRP Architects, the project was conceived as a practical, adaptable environment where small creative businesses could work alongside large-scale, state-of-the-art production facilities.

Assorted Images developed the project’s brand identity and visual language, creating a system rooted in the architecture and modular logic of the building itself. The design approach treated “the building as the star”, with the logo reflecting the physical layout of the complex and extending into signage, graphics and wayfinding throughout the site. The identity combined industrial references with a contemporary visual language designed to appeal to emerging creative businesses and digital entrepreneurs.

The work expanded into SharpFutures, a work-experience and talent development initiative connecting young people with creative and technology companies based at The Sharp Project. Assorted Images helped shape the initiative and its identity, supporting a model that gave startups access to new talent while creating practical pathways into the creative industries for young people across Greater Manchester.
