Key Cities is the UK’s largest and most diverse urban network outside London, representing 22 cities and urban areas across England and Wales, championing the role of regional cities in national policy and advocating for place-based approaches to economic growth, housing, skills, culture, climate action and community development. By connecting civic leaders, policymakers, universities and industry, Key Cities provides a collective voice for areas often overlooked in national decision-making despite their significant economic and social contribution.
The network amplifies its influence through strategic partnerships including the Key Cities All-Party Parliamentary Group and the Key Cities Innovation Network, a collaboration between 22 cities and 12 universities focused on research, innovation and civic impact. Its programme of engagement includes parliamentary receptions, the annual Key Cities Forum and the i-PLACE platform for place-based innovation.
In partnership with built environment specialists ING Media, the Images&Co team delivers policy development, research, parliamentary engagement and strategic programme management for the network, while also providing the secretariat for both the APPG and the Key Cities Innovation Network.
